Chapels and wayside crosses

Chapels and wayside crosses are an expression of Christianity. People used to erect wayside crosses for personal reasons, such as expiation. Some of the old wayside crosses were also intended for supplicatory processions. The purpose of such crosses was (and is) for travellers to pause at the site for a silent prayer. There are also some chapels and wayside crossings in our parish. Their locations can be found on the map of our parish. The following pages show some photos and give further information.
